The afternoon was perfect, with clear skies and strong winds that would soon turn our sunset cruise into an exciting experience. Under the expert guidance of our captain, Ismael, and the efficient support of Marina as our guide, we set sail with a group of four guests to explore the natural beauty and marine life surrounding San José Bay.

Marine Encounters and the Magic of the Ocean

As we ventured into the choppy waters, the show began. Excitement grew when we spotted mobula rays leaping out of the water, displaying their athletic beauty. It was a reminder that the ocean is full of constant surprises.

Further along, the thrill increased significantly when we encountered three majestic humpback whales: two adults and a calf. Their graceful movements and the harmony in which they swam left us all in awe, and we decided to remain alongside them for over an hour, observing their interactions.

An Unexpected Moment of Awe

The highlight of the afternoon came unexpectedly when one of the adults breached completely out of the water, relatively close to our vessel. The excitement was palpable; everyone on the boat stood still, holding their breath as the massive body of the whale rose into the air and then crashed back into the ocean with a thunderous splash. Never before had a moment felt so vivid and full of life.

This extended encounter with the whales, combined with the powerful motion of the sea, created an unforgettable experience. Each wave we crossed reminded us of nature’s strength and the beauty revealed at sunset, as we embraced both the serenity of the landscape and the thrill of the restless ocean. We returned to shore with our hearts full of unforgettable memories, reminded that every adventure at sea is unique and truly special.
